These are Winnie and Maisy Grace.
They both had a rough life but thanks to their mother, Sonia, they found the perfect environment where they get all the love and care they deserve!
Winnie is a 6-year old Pomeranian, Chihuahua mix who once had a shattered leg. Her previous owner’s grandchildren had told the vet to put her down because they didn’t have the money to get her leg fixed. Luckily for Winnie, she was saved by a small rescue groups who not only convinced the vet to release her but also got her spayed and her broken legs fixed. That is where she found her way into her new family’s welcoming arms. Now, she is a totally new dog – always happy and ever smiling (although, per her mom, would look a little evil at first!). She is now free and full of energy and is obsessed with chasing a ball!
Maisy Grace, on the other hand, is a 6-year old Chihuahua. It took her forever to find a home and stayed in a shelter in New Mexico for a while. Fortuitously, another small rescue group got to her during her last chance to find a forever home. Her mom, Sonia, initially had another dog in mind but fortunately for Maisy Grace, that dog already got adopted already. The shelter offered Sonia to check out the other small dogs and when she went there was told by the rescue gal that Maisy was a little standoffish. However, Maisy warmed up after a while and boy, did she warm up. It only took one look at Sonia and Maisy jumped on the sofa and laid on her lap and gazed at her soon-to-be new mom. Sonia knew right there and then she was never leaving the shelter without Maisy. Now, Maisy has become Sonia’s “Velcro” dog. She just wants be by her side all the time – touching her mom at all times possible. She is also quite the “talker” and would make the funniest sounds all the time.
Sonia is grateful she was picked by Maisy Grace and Winnie to be their mom. She can no longer imagine life without them!
