Let's get started with Willow, who is a 9-year-old Golden Retriever, her Birthday is Sept 22. Her Mom and Dad were both unregistered goldens that had a rendezvous one night and gave birth to 11 healthy pups. Willow was born in Niagara Falls Ontario Canada.
My friend at work showed me one of the pups that she was getting and right away I asked if she could text and see if there were any more females available. We had lost Storm a few months ago and was looking for a companion for our girl Raider. Thankfully there was a couple of females still available, so we went right away to look………well you know how that story goes!!!!!
Willow ( at the time not knowing her name or that she was one of the females available ) she met us right away with front paws over the gate. Once the owner said that pup was available, we knew right away she was meant for us.
Willow is one of the most loving, gentle, playful, silliest dogs we have had as part of our family. She is always smiling and will bring an instant smile to anyone who crosses her path. Willow absolutely loves people over other dogs and is always ready to accept a hug.
Willow over the years has given us a couple of scares, one when she had a blockage after eating a friend's cats stuffed mouse and the second a few years ago on our way home from Colorado ( unless we are flying our dogs travel everywhere with us ), we stopped just outside of Kansas City for the night. After eating her dinner, I knew right away something was wrong with Willow, her stomach had turned.
If a positive came from this horrible scary night, was the vets we encountered were incredible. They were beyond fantastic and of course saved Willows life. Willow pulled through this like a champ and continues to live a healthy vibrant life.
